- Kindercare Rangiora

During September Kindercare Rangiora has been focusing on filling our Kindness Kete with the help of our local community. We have had such a wonderful response and are so proud to share what we have been busy doing. We invited our parents to help us collect food which we then donated to the Salvation Army - with everyone bringing a contribution we soon had a large kete full to gift.

Across the centre the children enjoyed baking muffins, biscuits and cheese rolls which they then took home to gift to someone special. We had lots of happy grandparents that week!

Our busy toddler children enjoyed creating some decorations for the Waimakariri District Council Offices too, helping to cheer on the Scottish team.

We introduced Katy Kindness to the children and they loved taking turns at inviting her into their home for the weekend. During their time with Katy the children helped out at playgroups, donated clothes and toys, contributed to food banks and picked flowers with mums, dads and grandparents.

We also had some special visitors to the centre during the month with our local rest home coming in to the centre to share mat time and afternoon tea with some of the children. Our oldest children had a visit from one of our parents who volunteered to come in and share some favourite stories and songs with our oldest tamariki. These were real treats for the children and a lovely way for us to connect more with our local community. We have loved this kindness focus and will definitely be looking to continue spreading this message throughout the year.
