Create A Nurturing And Safe Haven For Play And Imagination

What does a 'home away from home' look and feel like?

Your space can be a heart-like space

Many children spend more waking hours with us at their ‘early childhood’ place than at their own home! They are living their days in our services. Create a place for them that feels warm and inviting, and feels nurturing, calm and cosy.

Home-like spaces are heart-like spaces. They leave space for the most important ingredients in our little children’s lives - relationships, play, and LIFE! This is what HOME really means.

"OMG!!! I am loving it!!! This is absolutely amazing. I had actual tears listening to Kimberley. This is so brilliant. Such an amazing way to engage with the book – makes it so much more of a “living” document so to speak. Thank you! This is really going to help the educators over here in Australia, and all around the world. Kimberley is 100% right, there is so much pedagogy for the head but not a lot for the heart. I am so very grateful."

You will learn:

How to incorporate care, love and beauty in your environment that fosters play and imagination

What a Nestmaker is and how to plan and prepare for changing your setting into a more homely place

How to prepare in the head, heart and hand and what is a sensorial banquet

What rituals are and how to integrate them into your setting

To go beyond the 'look', where care is felt and relationships matter

How to offer a homely environment that is truly from, for and full of heart

Do you want an environment that nurtures little hearts, or one that just houses little bodies?

We have to go beyond the basics, way beyond, and go for beautiful - in the physical AND the non-physical (or as we like to call it, the seen and the unseen).
